Opportunities

Oakwood will match a volunteer’s interest, experience, and availability with a need on one of the Oakwood campuses.  Oakwood volunteers receive an initial interview to determine their interests, experience and schedule; an orientation to Oakwood Village, its mission, programs and residents; training in the specific area where they are placed; opportunities for additional training as appropriate, and ongoing recognition and appreciation.

Person's Name
"All the activities are just wonderful.  I like to take trips.  I participate in an exercise class and the PACE program for my arthritis.  I volunteer a lot.  I work in the Village Mercantile, I usher once a month in the Tree of Life Chapel, and I help with sing-a-longs in the memory facility.  I actually volunteered in the Village Mercantile before I moved in, which was great, because I got to know a lot of people ahead of time."
