Activities
At Oakwood Village, you are encouraged to participate in activities all over campus and become a part of the Oakwood community of friends. It is our goal to provide numerous opportunities for residents to pursue their interests and stay as active and involved as they wish.
Each facility at Oakwood Village has its own activities program with a schedule of activities that meet the needs of its respective residents. Programs, offered both on and off campus, are designed to allow opportunities to recognize and continue past interest while stimulating new interests.
Activities are planned with input from residents. Examples of activities at Oakwood include tai chi classes, computer classes, bridge or euchre groups, writers groups, pottery classes, lecture series and music therapy programs. Recent events for residents through our events and activities departments have included a three-day trip to Door County, pontoon boat rides, attending performances at the Overture Center and Madison Civic Center, trips to Branson and New Orleans, and regular trips to local restaurants, museums and gardens.
A monthly program calendar is given to each resident. Extra calendars are available at the front office if family or friends would like to have one, or can be provided by the admissions staff upon request. Large print versions are also available. We encourage you to learn more about our events and activities programs, as they are comprehensive and distinguish our community from similar organizations.
