Mission
Oakwood is a Lutheran church-sponsored organization whose mission is to serve older persons through loving, caring, Christian communities; responding to their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs; and to encourage a sense of independence, individuality, dignity and worth throughout life.
Health & Wellness Philosophy
As Christian continuum of care communities, we believe life is a gift from God. Every person is of infinite worth and should be enabled and assisted to attain or maintain their highest level of well being. Oakwood will respect the religious beliefs and personal values of each individual and will nurture and celebrate cultural differences.
Our mission is to serve older persons through loving, caring Christian communities, responding to their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs, and to encourage a sense of independence, individuality, dignity and worth throughout life.
Every resident has the right to make their own choices regarding their health care; however, the Oakwood community has the right to expect residents to be responsible to the communities by utilizing the Oakwood continuum of care. Oakwood provides support and professional guidance to assist individual residents and the community in this task.
At all times the residents and their appointed representatives will be fully informed on the status of the resident's health through open communication between these persons and the health care team. The necessary support and education concerning the use or non use of medical treatment will be provided to individuals and families. Residents will be encouraged to complete advanced directives. At the end of life, special care will be taken to meet the needs of residents and their families.
Oakwood is committed to providing a highly trained and qualified health care team. Oakwood constantly strives to improve the services it offers.
